About The Story
The Exiles, written by Ray Bradbury in 1949 is a twisted science fiction short story. Where three witches from one of William Shakespeare plays's Macbeth and famous writers such as Charles Dickens and Edgar Allen Poe. Due to their superstitious writings, their books have been banned and burned. The authors exiled themselves to the planet Mars in an attempt to save their creations. This story was primarily published as "The Mad Wizards of Mars" then revised and remade into The Exiles part of the "The Illustrated Man" a collection of 18 of Ray Bradbury science fiction stories like "The Veldt" and "The Rocket Man". This story is mainly about a super-naturalist and fictional world however it has a deeper meaning, to show us the power and effects of censorship on books and literature.
